DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Mary is taken up to heaven;
a chorus of angels exults.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY

Revelation 11:19a; 12:1-6a, 10ab, Psalm 45:10-12, 16, 1 Corinthians 15:20-27, Luke 1:39-56

Revelation 11:19a; 12:1-6a, 10ab

My soul's beloved, to love and honor Mary, as Mother of God and Queen of heaven and earth is right and fitting for this is what the Father desires for His fairest of the fair daughter, what You desire for Your Mama, and what the Holy Spirit desires for His most beloved spouse. We could never love her more than God does. We cannot praise her more than the angels do. We cannot exalt her with greater honor than God Himself has done. She who is the Ark of the New Covenant is now in heaven. She who consented to become the Mother of the Eternal Word and before whom all heaven and earth waited in solemn, eager anticipation to agree to for her fiat to the will of God conceived in her womb the Son of the Living God through the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Most High is now clothed with the sun. The moon is under her feet and on her head is a crown of twelve stars representing the  twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve Apostles. She is the Mother of the Church for the members of the Church are grafted to her Son and receive life through Him. If she is the Mother of the Head of the Church then we who are the Church are members of His Body then she is our Mother too.

Because Mary said yes God's promise to save a fallen world could be fulfilled.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have salvation and power come,
and the Kingdom of our God
and the authority of his Anointed One
.”

Thank you beautiful Mother for that yes that was the first step in assuring our redemption. We love you, we praise you, we honor you. Sweet star of the sea.

Psalm 45:10-12, 16

Mary, our Mother and our Queen stands at the right hand of her beloved Son. She reigns by His side. Enthroned beside Him she intercedes for the children He gave her as she stood beneath the Cross. She suffered with Him, a sword pierced her immaculate heart. She died a spiritual death as she watched her only beloved Son die an agonizing death on the Cross and now God has raised her up and given her a place of honor. Her beauty is dazzling for she is arrayed with every grace and virtue that it pleases God to heap upon her His beautiful daughter. She looks with love at her children who still struggle through this valley of tears and she will not cease pleading until all her children are safely home with her in heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:20-27

My soul's beloved, we believe that Mother Mary, after completing her life on earth died and was taken body and soul into heaven just as Elijah was taken. Her body which gave Flesh to Your Own, her blood that nourished You and gave Your the Blood that You shed for us, that sweetest of Mothers who was privileged to be born without stain of original sin through the merits of Your Passion and Death, did not face corruption but was assumed by the power of God into heaven. There she is enthroned as Queen of heaven and earth and Mother of all the living.  What the Church asks us to believe is not contrary nor conflicting to what has been revealed through Scripture.

God who is beyond time and space has granted the loveliest and purest of all His creatures a singular grace and blessing one that we too will enjoy when You come again in glory to claim all those who have died. You will raise us up and take us to live with You forever. What Your have promised us in time has already been granted to Your Mother who refused God nothing. In life and in death she faithfully reflected and mirrored God.  We her children have no difficulty in believing that God who created her for a singular purpose honored her for her faithfulness in a wonderfully singular way. Who are we to deny her what it delights God to grant her.

Luke 1:39-56

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.”
