Isaiah 35:1-10, Psalm 85:9-14, Luke 5:17-26

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS:

Isaiah 35:1-10, Psalm 85:9-14, Luke 5:17-26

Isaiah 35:1-10

God is able to cause life to spring where no life was thought possible - Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth.  He not only causes life but causes it in such glorious, beautiful, bountiful abundance one cannot help but exult with joy in praise of His marvellous goodness and generosity.

Let the wilderness and the arid land rejoice,
the desert be glad and blossom.
Covered with flowers, it sings and shouts with joy,
adorned with the splendor of Lebanon,
the magnificence of Carmel and Sharon.
They, my people, see the glory of Yahweh,
the majesty of our God.

My Beloved, You said You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Your Name is Holy You are the Way to Holiness.  You remove all spiritual blindness and You fill us with Yourself - the Truth, the 'Shekinah glory of the Lord' who has been revealed to His people and who is able to restore our sight so we no longer stumble and fall.

Your Name is Life.  Everything You touch blooms, brings healing and bursts and blossoms with flower and fruit.

Only those who hear Your voice and obey, only those who are sanctified by Your saving Blood can abide in You.  You set captives free and they rejoice in the freedom of the children of God.

Psalm 85:9-14

Beloved, there is no evil You do not rout, no plan set against Your people will You permit to succeed. Heaven and earth belongs to You and all that is in it. God the Father has exalted You and given You a Name above every other. You are all holy, all powerful, all goodness and You are Love and I belong to You.

Luke 5:17-26

My beloved, all too often sin is the cause of our physical illnesses.  We plant the first step in the path of evil and from then on if unchecked, it is all downhill. The black miasma of sin first clouds the soul and as sin enters and fouls us up we become darkened and deadened.

Once spiritual death has set in the body's physical death quite often begins.  You knew this when the friends of the paralytic lowered him in front of You.  You saw that he first needed to be forgiven his sins and healed from his spiritual paralysis before the physical healing could take place.  We see what occurs once You have forgiven him.  He got up immediately, took up the mat on which he lay for years and walked home a free man, glorifying God.

Thank You my Beloved for one of the most merciful and generous of Your Gifts the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Healing.
